Patients are encouraged to nominate a preferred doctor for routine and ongoing care.
Your preferred doctor maintains your electronic record, may recommend periodic health checks and may arrange clinical recalls. When that doctor is unavailable, another EBMC GP can assist and update the shared record.
Managing health information
Your medical record is confidential, computerised and password protected. Access is limited to authorised people where needed for care and practice administration.
Changing your preferred doctor
Your needs may change over time. Discuss a proposed change with the new preferred doctor so the record can be updated and continuity maintained.
